Browse Hamiltonlink's current strands — each one mapped to a specific employment or further-study outcome recognised in New Zealand.
Every Hamiltonlink programme runs over three terms of twelve weeks each. The first term establishes foundational knowledge and professional literacy — the baseline every employer assumes but rarely finds. The second term shifts into applied project work, where learners solve real briefs sourced from Otago-region organisations. The third term is dedicated to integration: a capstone project, an employer presentation, and a structured reflection that documents the skills acquired in language that translates directly into a CV or portfolio. Assessments are weighted toward demonstration rather than recall — written exams account for no more than 30 percent of any programme's grade structure.
Each strand is reviewed annually against labour-market data from the Otago region and updated where industry requirements have shifted.

A practical introduction to software environments, data handling, project tooling, and digital communication. Designed for learners stepping into tech-adjacent roles who need a credible, structured grounding rather than self-taught gaps.
Prepares learners for administrative and support roles in New Zealand's health sector — patient communication, record systems, scheduling, and the regulatory environment that governs health service delivery.
Covers case-support skills, community engagement, reporting frameworks, and the legislative context for social services work. Aligned with entry requirements for roles in Dunedin's NGO and local-government sector.
Hamiltonlink programmes prepare learners thoroughly, but outcomes also depend on factors outside any educator's control — the local labour market at the time of graduation, the prior experience a learner brings, and the effort invested during study. We do not guarantee employment, and we advise against choosing a programme solely on the basis of the highest-paying roles associated with a field. We encourage every prospective student to review our published outcome data, speak with a faculty adviser, and make a decision grounded in honest self-assessment rather than optimistic projections.
Two of our four strands — Business Operations and Digital & Technology Foundations — offer a part-time schedule spread over five terms rather than three. Part-time students complete identical content and assessments; the pace is different, not the standard.
All programmes are campus-based at our George Street location. We provide some supplementary digital resources between sessions, but live, in-person learning is the primary delivery mode. Remote-only enrolment is not currently available.
Current programmes sit at NZQF Levels 4 and 5, depending on the strand. Level placement for each programme is listed on the strand's information sheet, which is available from the admissions team on request.
From 2025, learners in Business Operations and Community & Social Services may elect one cross-strand module per term from a shared elective pool. Speak with your adviser during onboarding to confirm your eligibility.
Our advisers can walk you through the outcome data for any strand and help you match your background to the most appropriate entry point.
